One Earth

In June 2006, One Earth hosted a well-attended side event at the third session of the World Urban Forum (WUF3). It was called “One small step for cities, one giant leap for the planet: Practical solutions for cities stepping towards a lighter footprint.” A presentation by Bill Rees was followed by facilitated debate about practical ways in which cities from both low- and high-income countries are reducing their impact while enhancing well-being. It was a lively discussion where practical solutions were shared. We also produced a CD-Rom for the event pulling together some of the best practical solutions and background on sustainable production and consumption issues.
